Describing the youth as “the pillars of national development, political stability, and security architecture,” the chairman said he draws inspiration for youth development from his mentor, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, whose foresight, he noted, has been instrumental in shaping a brighter future for young people in the state.

Hon. Barmini stated that the award serves as a moral booster, motivating him to sustain policies and programmes aimed at empowering youth and women.

He also urged other local government chairmen across Bauchi State to prioritize youth sports activities as a tool for strengthening unity among diverse ethnic groups.

Highlighting ongoing initiatives, the chairman revealed that the council has provided Keke Napep as a prize for the upcoming football competition involving clubs from Warji and neighboring communities in Jigawa State. This, he said, is intended to foster interstate unity and enhance youth welfare.

Barmini, who also doubles as the chairman of the Daga Kaura Sai Abunda Kace Muyi 2027 Political Forum, said the forum was formed in recognition of Governor Bala Muhammad’s impressive track record in delivering developmental projects across Bauchi State.

He listed several projects executed during the governor’s first tenure in Warji, including the Warji–Gwaram road, a new Warji palace, a modern hospital, renovation of the local government secretariat, the Warji–Dagu road, a water barrier in Dagu to prevent flooding, and the ongoing construction of the Ningi–Bunga–Dagu road.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Abdulsalam Abdulfatah, said the award recognizes Hon. Barmini’s passion for sports and his significant achievements in promoting unity and peaceful coexistence among youth. He praised the chairman’s accomplishments in human development and public accountability.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary of the Bauchi State Ministry of Youth and Sports, Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim, urged the awardee to see the honor as encouragement to continue supporting sports initiatives that promote unity in Warji and neighboring Jigawa communities.
