The Bauchi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to quality infrastructure development with the official handover of three brand-new Tacoma vehicles to the Project Management Consulting Committee under the Ministry of Works and Transport.
Performing the handover, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engr. Muhammad Hamisu Garba said the provision of the vehicles is part of government’s effort to enhance the committee’s efficiency in monitoring and supervising capital projects across the state.
He explained that the committee, made up of 40 members, is charged with ensuring that projects are completed on schedule, within approved cost, and according to established standards. Engr. Hamisu added that the Ministry has also provided office accommodation and other logistics to support the committee’s operations.
Receiving the keys, representatives of the committee expressed appreciation to the State Government for the gesture and pledged to make judicious use of the vehicles. They assured that the confidence reposed in them will be justified through diligent monitoring and effective oversight of all ongoing and future projects.
The Permanent Secretary, General Administration, Barr. Dawud, was present at the ceremony and also took a brief ride in one of the newly procured vehicles to assess its condition.
