Politicians have been urged to empower young people and women with meaningful employment opportunities to enhance national development and productivity.
The call was made by renowned politician Dr. Auwal Baba Jada shortly after he received a Sports Award of Excellence for his foresight and commitment to sports development in Bauchi State and Nigeria at large. The award ceremony was organized by Vengary Sports Centre in collaboration with Kolmani Sports Academy.
Dr. Baba Jada recalled that during his time as a staff member of NEPA, he facilitated the recruitment of more than 600 workers across Bauchi and Gombe States—an effort aimed at promoting self-reliance and reducing economic hardship. He described such opportunities as powerful tools for leaders to uplift the people under their care.
Looking ahead to 2027, Dr. Baba Jada expressed readiness to serve as the member representing Bauchi Federal Constituency if given the mandate, noting that many residents of Bauchi LGA have already urged him to contest. He pledged to prioritize true representation, which he described as the “cornerstone of effective leadership.”

If elected, he promised to provide educational scholarships for underprivileged youth, strengthen the agricultural sector, introduce skills-acquisition programs, and implement people-centered projects that address community needs.
Dr. Baba Jada, who owns the ABJ Football Club, emphasized that sports remain a strong symbol of unity among diverse youth groups. He noted that fairness and justice in managing players contribute significantly to the club’s success.
The former chairman of Wikki Tourists also advised the club’s current management to motivate players by ensuring they receive their entitlements promptly, stressing that this is essential for achieving positive results in competitions.
