Bauchi Assembly to Screen Ex-Works Commissioner Cikasoron for Return to State Executive Council

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has approved the nomination of Abdulkadir Ibrahim Muhammad, popularly known as Cikasoron Bauchi, for appointment as Commissioner and Member of the State Executive Council, pending confirmation by the Bauchi State House of Assembly.

The nomination was announced during plenary on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

The session was presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Jamilu Umar Dahiru, in the absence of the Speaker.

The disclosure was made by Zakariyya Aliyu Gwaram of the New Media Unit, Information and Publication Directorate, BAHA.

Following the announcement, the House invited Abdulkadir Ibrahim Muhammad to appear before it on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, for screening and confirmation as Commissioner and Member of the State Executive Council.

Cikasoron Bauchi previously served as Commissioner for Works and Transportation under Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration before leaving the Executive Council some years ago.

It will be recalled that Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad relieved the reappointment of Ibrahim Gambo Galadima, the former Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs.

Both the outgoing commissioner and the nominee hail from Alkaleri Local Government Area, the hometown of Governor Bala Mohammed.

The screening is expected to determine his confirmation and possible return to the State Executive Council.
